Homeownership Reality Workshop Scheduled for June 23

Building on Workshop 1
Workshop 1 — Market Reality — established the context. On May 28, five local professionals walked through the structural reasons why Tulsa housing costs what it costs: inventory constraints, insurance rates, the gap between qualifying and affording, and the data behind what is actually driving the market.
The room responded to straight information delivered without a sales agenda. The Q&A ran long because people had real questions. That is the confirmation this format needed.
Workshop 2 picks up where that conversation left off.
What Workshop 2 covers
Homeownership Reality is about the decisions successful homeowners make differently from the ones who end up with regret. Most homebuying education focuses on the transaction: how to get approved, how to make an offer, how to close. Almost none of it focuses on what happens after.
The conversations on June 23 are drawn from what the professionals in the room see regularly — the patterns in buyers who thrive and the patterns in buyers who don't.
Section 1: Before You Buy
BC Flanigan — Keller Williams Advantage
Real Estate
The decisions that determine whether you love your home or regret it — what matters most before you ever make an offer.
Angela Dickey — Cityscape Home Mortgage
Mortgage Lending
What buyers get wrong about financing — and what it costs them when they find out too late.
Section 2: During the Purchase
Corey Hinson — Cornerstone Home Inspections
Home Inspection
What inspectors see that buyers consistently overlook — and what to check before you commit.
Michael Tillmon — Goosehead Insurance
Insurance
Oklahoma's insurance environment is different. The questions every buyer should ask before closing.
Trey Wilson — Catalyst Financial Group
Financial Planning
Can you actually afford this house? The honest difference between qualifying for a mortgage and owning it comfortably.
Section 3: After You Own It
The real cost of homeownership — what changes after you close, how to protect the asset, and what successful owners do differently. Open Q&A panel with all five professionals.
Who should attend
Workshop 2 is relevant whether you are buying soon, currently a homeowner thinking about a move, or years away from your first purchase. The frameworks apply across the timeline. Several attendees from Workshop 1 have already said they are coming back with a partner, a family member, or a colleague.
This is a community event, not a client seminar. You do not have to work with anyone in the room. The goal is better information in Tulsa.
Seating and logistics
Attendance was free. Seating was limited by venue capacity, so registration was required. The announced program ran approximately two hours, with food provided: networking and food from 5:30, speaker presentations from 6:00, and an open Q&A panel beginning around 7:00.
