What drivers need to know

Norman announced October 27 that Flowbird will no longer accept mobile parking payments for City-operated facilities and spaces beginning November 1. Drivers who prefer an app can download ParkMobile before the change.

The City is updating payment decals and signs and distributing information to drivers. It says Flowbird users who paid for parking in Norman during the past six months will receive notifications.

Why it matters

TREW analysis: A familiar payment app may stop working on a routine visit. Checking the posted instructions can help residents and visitors avoid confusion. The announcement describes a payment change; it does not establish a parking-rate increase.

Check before you park

Follow the instructions at the parking space or pay station. The City says coins and cards at pay stations, along with text-to-pay, remain available.
