What the public source says

Oklahoma City's October 26 announcement describes improvements underway on Portland Avenue between NW 23rd and NW 36th streets. The City lists resurfacing, sidewalks, solar streetlights, crossings, drainage work and landscaping.

The City describes $6 million in general-obligation bond and sales-tax funding. Construction began in summer 2026, and the City anticipates a spring 2027 finish. A crossing at NW 31st is intended to improve neighborhood access to Will Rogers Park.

Why it matters

TREW analysis: A park can be nearby but difficult to reach on foot. Crossings and sidewalk connections are practical neighborhood features to track alongside the construction budget and promised finish date.

Status and limits

The funding figure is not proof of final spending. The anticipated finish is not completion, and TREW has not independently audited safety outcomes or active traffic conditions.
